Refuweegee Raconteurs is a new storytelling initiative I co-founded with my dad, and will take place in a different Glasgow venue each month. Last month it was at Tchai-Ovna, where we raised over £100 for Refuweegee. This month it took place at the Blue Chair and raised £75. Next month's will take place at Lambhill Stables, date and time TBC.

This is a particularly special storytelling club because it exists to raise funds  for Refuweegee, a wonderful local charity dedicated to helping refugees in Glasgow and making them feel welcome here.

I was the MC, and we had accordian music, folk music, blues singing, a story from South Africa, a story about a mad king ordering a river to be punished, a beautiful story by my 4-year-old nephew about the three little rescue bots and a big bad decepticon, a very moving poem by a refugee about her experiences, and a hilarious poem inspired by Matt McGinn.  The atmosphere was very warm and friendly, and it was a brilliant way to spend an evening.

Here's me doing my own wee story about brambles!
